Awards highlight ĢƵ’s creative video storytelling

ĢƵ (ĢƵ) won six Telly Awards, announced on May 19, 2026. According to the organization’s website, the Telly Awards "honor excellence in video and television." This year's awards focused on storytellers capturing original tales in creative ways.

"We received over 13,000 exceptional entries this year, and the winners represent the most innovative stories being told across all screens," wrote Amanda Needham, managing director of the , in an email to winning entrants.

Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards has evolved to embrace the rapid spread of digital video. Entries are submitted by major agencies, television stations, publishers, production companies, and other organizations.

Jerry Moxley, director of video production at ĢƵ, explained that creators submit their videos for of more than 250 industry leaders.

“We’re not competing against other entries,” said Moxley. “A piece is awarded on the merits of our own work and whether it qualifies for being excellent."

ĢƵ’s six entries included videos from the university's Succeed Again ad campaign, an overview of the cybersecurity master’s degree programs, and episodes from its 'Unstoppable Stories' podcast.

Four ĢƵ entries received a silver Telly award:

The video won a bronze Telly award, while was chosen to receive a People’s Telly bronze award. People’s Telly winners are shortlisted by the judging panel, then voted on by the public. ĢƵ’s People’s Telly award winner features a young father rising to cybersecurity director after attending ĢƵ.

"They put entries online and let the public vote. Winning bronze in that category is different this year,” said Moxley. “It’s nice being recognized in that way."

Unstoppable Stories is a long-form podcast featuring stories from ĢƵ students and alumni. In its second season, podcast hosts guide listeners through the personal journeys of ĢƵ students and alumni.

Moxley praised his team, including Lauren Cardillo, Tanya Roche, Evin Howell, and supervisor Cathy Leaning. He also credited others across the university, including those working in strategy, content, and communications.
