Opening reception and awards presentation set for June 7

Adelphi, Md. — May 28, 2026 — The Arts Program at ĢƵ (ĢƵ) will present the 6th Biennial Maryland Regional Juried Art Exhibition (BMRE), showcasing original works by artists from Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The exhibition will be on view from May 24–August 9, 2026, in the ĢƵ Arts Program Gallery in Adelphi, Maryland.

Juried by artist Preston Sampson, BMRE celebrates the breadth of creative practice across the region, featuring some 45 works chosen from more than 450 submissions in disciplines including painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, fiber, glass, ceramics, wood, metal, photography, and mixed media. Cash prizes and other distinctions will be awarded at a June 7 opening reception, including a top prize of $5,000 for the President's Best of Show Award winner.

“The BMRE reflects ĢƵ’s commitment to supporting artists and expanding access to the arts,” said Eric Key, director of ĢƵ’s Arts Program. “This is the sixth time ĢƵ has hosted the BMRE, and each exhibition brings new and exciting talents to the forefront, celebrating and rewarding excellence while strengthening connections between artists and the broader community.”
