Adelphi, Md. — Jan. 28, 2026 — ĢƵ (ĢƵ) has received reaffirmation of its accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

 “Accreditation remains a cornerstone of how universities demonstrate value, and the reaffirmation process offers an important opportunity to assess our progress, learn from our peers, and continue to strengthen the experience we provide to learners around the world,” said ĢƵ President Gregory W. Fowler, PhD. “This reaffirmation reflects the dedication of our faculty and staff and underscores the relevance of our mission. It affirms that ĢƵ continues to be a trusted, quality institution committed to expanding opportunity and delivering a learning experience that prepares students for the modern workforce and positions them to make a meaningful impact.”

The Commission’s reaffirmation of ĢƵ’s accreditation concludes a rigorous process — begun in earnest in the spring of 2023 — that included completion of an institutional self-study and visits by a team of peer evaluators to ĢƵ locations around the world. The evaluators found ĢƵ in compliance with all of Middle States’ , and recognized the university’s achievements and innovations in a number of areas, including:

  • A learner-centered, data-informed culture;
  • A commitment to growth and innovation, as evidenced by initiatives focused on improving communication, professional development, and operations;
  • The use of feedback and performance indicators to drive equity, consistency, and continuous improvement;
  • The institution’s work to strengthen assessment and advance its Comprehensive Learner Record; and
  • An institutional commitment to enhancing the student experience, including increasing awareness of the support available to learners, such as through the Office of Student Resolution Services.

Accreditation by a recognized accrediting agency is a requirement for universities that participate in federal financial aid programs. ĢƵ’s accreditation by Middle States demonstrates that the university meets or exceeds the high standards of educational quality embraced by more than 500 MSCHE member institutions worldwide.

The Commission's next comprehensive evaluation of ĢƵ is scheduled for 2032-2033.
