Ģ����Ƶ

1. Purpose

   In accordance with University System of Maryland (USM) Policy VIII-2.30 on Waiver of Tuition and Granting of Other Privileges for Senior Citizens of the State of Maryland, approved by the Board of Regents on November 30, 1989, Ģ����Ƶ (“Ģ����Ƶ”) has adopted the following procedures under the Golden Identification (“ID”) Card Program.

2. Scope

   The Golden ID Card Program is open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are 60 years old or older who are residents of the State of Maryland and are retired. "Retired" is defined as "not working more than 20 hours a week." Normally, to qualify for the program, the chief income of the individual must be derived from retirement benefits.

3. Enrollment
   1. The following Ģ����Ƶ Programs are not included in the Golden ID Card Program:
      1. Specialty Undergraduate and Graduate Programs (including but not limited to MBA, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics),
      2. Executive programs of the Graduate School,
      3. 800 – level courses,
      4. Non-credit courses scheduled through Ģ����Ƶ's National Leadership Institute,
      5. Credit by examination, and
      6. Credit for portfolio assessment
   2. Those individuals who qualify for the program may enroll for courses on a space-available basis. Golden ID Card Students will be given waiver of tuition for no more than seven semester hours in a single academic term. While enrolled, they will receive library privileges available to other students. In addition, the late registration fee will be waived.
4. Procedures

   Golden ID Card Students must apply for admission and meet all requirements. The Golden ID student must sign and submit the Golden ID form each time they register at Ģ����Ƶ and provide their current work hours per week. It is the student's responsibility to notify Ģ����Ƶ of any changes.

   The University System of Maryland Policy requires that the FTE enrollment of students in this program at Ģ����Ƶ shall not exceed two percent of the Ģ����Ƶ FTE undergraduate enrollment. To assure compliance with the limitation, if participation in the program during any year grows to a level of 1.8 percent of the undergraduate enrollment, procedures will be established to limit registration the following year on a first-come-first-served basis.
